A: Any client should ask: What is the Architects design process; What is the billable hourly rate and; Can I see your website (portoflio) Personality is a big issue for clients and a client should ascertain if the Architect can listen aka "HEAR" what is being said.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: The firms work consists of housing: renovation, additions and new construction of single family homes, additions and renovation to single family homes, apartments, elderly housing, etc; restaurants, daycares, religious uses and smaller retails spaces.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?

I am licensed in MA, NH, CT pending and NCARB certified. I began my care in 1979 and was licensed in 1988. We are a general practice consisting of 4 persons located in greater Lowell. I have completed projects in construction value to 20 m. Completed work includes single and multi-family housing, historic structures and tax credit applications, accessibility projects, restaurants, retail, mixed use, warehousing consisting of both new and renovated construction and feasibility studies.

3000 GSFf arts and craft style home on a 10000 sf lot in Waban. Project consists of 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms, open concept living dining family kitchen, siting room, mudroom, game room and Au-pair suite with a 2 car garage.

I am writing about our experience with hiring TBC to renovate our house, a 1955 ranch-style house with 3 bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, and living/dining room that we moved into in 1995. We had been looking to add a second bathroom and had originally worked with an architect from NH to do a modest front and rear bump out to give us more room to fit in a second bathroom. This architect had to withdraw from the job and recommended David Kinsella of TBC. David initially made some modest changes to the plan that made sense. After some further discussion, in which my wife and I raised the possibility of a larger scale project to modernize the style of the house, David developed a plan that essentially rebuilt the house except for our previously remodeled kitchen and original foundation. This new plan converted our house into modern design with a more open floor plan, completely new roof line, loft space, re-finished basement (and the second bathroom). - $45.00 to $120.00 per hour (plus materials)
- 3.00 to 10.00 percent of construction cost
Hourly method depends on staff person and discipline-will do fixed fees base on estimated hours. SF-do not use this cost method will do fixed fees. % method: 40% of fee for design, 30% of fee for construction drawings; base on total construction value

Architects - Residential
- $45.00 to $120.00 per hour (plus materials)
- 3.00 to 10.00 percent of construction cost

Architectural Model Makers
- $65.00 to $85.00 per hour (plus materials)
