Tucker has been building pools since 1972. After meeting Marie and getting married they went into a business together but Tucker was not real happy. He missed digging in the dirt. One day they were talking about exactly what he did building above ground swimming pools. Tucker explained to Marie how first he had to dig up the yard and make it level so he could start building the pool. Marie joked and said ok we will call our new company Dig-M-Pools. They both laughed and Tucker added right "U-Buy-M - We-Dig-M". Marie took a napkin and jotted down the name and the phrase, Pretty much that was the end of the conversation. The next day Marie took the napkin to a printer and asked him to make up some business cards. She also called the local newspaper and ran an ad to build above ground swimming pools. Specialization Pays Off For DIG M
In 1979, when Dig-M-Pool Installers, Levittown, Pa., was founded, it installed 28 above-ground pools. In 1982 it installed 562 pools. And both Tucker and Marie Rooney, who run the business, expect to install greater number in 1983.
"We are now offering our services to retailers in South eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware for a radius of about 100 miles, ". Tucker says, explaining why this business growth is expected. The Rooney’s don't mind extending the area of their services because they feel that this gives them an opportunity to gain a foothold in other areas.
Dig-M-Pool does not sell any products. They install above-ground pools and are involved in service and repairs as well as the opening and closing of above-ground pools. Do I need a permit for installing my above ground pool?
Every county has its own rules and regulations. We have installed in counties that do not require anything and we have installed in counties that are extremely strict. Check with your county's building department for more information on permits. The location you have picked for the pool must meet the townships/county’s codes, being proper distances away from property lines and existing structures. The ground also needs to be excavated according to the townships codes.
What type of electricity do I need for the pool pump?
This depends on the type pump, but most above ground pumps are 110V and come with a cord that you will just plug in. For these pumps you will need a 20amp breaker and 10 gauge wire ran to the pump . Most customers end up wiring an outlet beside the pump for easy access.
Can I install an above ground pool if I have a sloped yard?
Yes. The slope of the yard does not affect the ability to grade and install the pool.

Things to Consider in Selecting the Pool Location
Small Trees Bushes - Shrubs - Flowers - Gardens - Clothesline Poles
Swing Sets - Gym Sets - Any Other Objects that could be in the way.
If you have anything in the pool area please have them removed before the installation date.
If you have trees or stumps it is best to have them pulled out. All stump(s) should be ground down as far as possible. If you have any questions please call and we will walk you through it.

This is what our liners look like. Notice how smooth it is. There are no wrinkles or footprints in the liner when we leave your property. We give a three year written guarantee. I have used Dig M Installers 4 times. I am completely happy with their service and would recommend them to everyone. I was one of their first customers back in 1979! I have had two pools and two liner changes. Their book is something every new pool owner should read. It walks you through every single step of getting a new pool. There are so many things that are involved. There book is free just for the asking. I would not use anyone else. Alivia

Had my second pool installed this past summer. My first experience with my first pool was excellent. They were fast and did a great job. They took the time to explain things that I needed to do to prolong the life of my pool and cleaned up the yard when they finished. This is why I did not hesitate to call them first to install my second pool. This one was a little harder to install in my opinion as I had decided to dig down and install the pool so that the sides that were above the ground level were only two and a half feet above the patio deck for easy entry. They also have personnel to answer questions when you call with any problems. I would not use any other company. (Hide)

From a work stand point, they came out and gave us a free estimate. Tucker knew exactly what needed to be done and a detailed quote was sent via email within a few days. We were told to pay cash ahead of time which was fine. They came out on the scheduled date and time and a few hours later, we had our pool back. They even helped us with the chemicals to treat the water and showed us how to use the accessories even though this was not in the job description. Tucker came out a week later to check up and make sure all was well with the liner. On the other hand, we noticed a few cigarette butts on the ground near the site. Not the end of the world, but a little more respect for our property would have been nice. Over all, pleasant experience with Dig M Pools! (Hide)

Dig-M is the ultimate BEST!!! Over the past 12 years they've installed two pools for us and also re-installed a torn liner. From the first phone call to the completion of the job they were top notch! The crew was quick and efficient and finished in no time at all! I highly recommend Dig-M Installers!!!

i have used this company for over 15years and they are the best in the business. always there when i answer willing to help me with any needs possible. the office was pleasent and they actually knew what they were talking about. they knew more then the dealer who sold me the pool!!!! they have installed 4 of my pools from my own and friends and have never been so pleased!!! i reccommend them to EVERYBODY!!! The best decision I ever made!
The crew was courteous,professional,and showed up on time. I have had them out to fix my pool,and also to attache a deck. I highly reccomend their services.
