Based in Los Angeles, William E. Jackson, AIA (WEJ) was established January 1982. For over three decades, the firm has provided full architectural and engineering services for hundreds of clients on over 6,000 projects. The firm’s varied experience in commercial, retail, industrial, telecommunication, residential and educational facilities, throughout California and Michigan enables WEJ to create a planning and design approach which reflects an appreciation for the interactive elements of an urban society and the needs of the individual who will be utilizing the space.
Whether the client demands a retrofitting renovation or a new building, WEJ is dedicated to aesthetics, cost and time. The firm takes pride in its ability to stay within budget and on schedule while meeting the client’s needs and objectives.
While working on a variety of projects, WEJ has acquired a detailed familiarity with the local building industry. The firm is familiar with local zoning and building codes. Additionally, our broad expertise enables us to use the latest technology available to effectively bring our projects to completion in a timely and cost effective manner.
The successful completion of numerous projects can greatly be attributed to the firm’s “team approach” philosophy. At WEJ, the team approach incorporates the input from the client, architect, engineers and contractors from the onset of the project until its completion. BACKGROUND AND PHILOSOPHY
For the past 38 years, William E. Jackson, AIA has provided full architectural and engineering services for hundreds of clients on many and varied projects.
“The integral part of a successful project,” according to Bill Jackson, “is the team approach”. At WEJ the team approach incorporates input from the client, architect, and the engineer from the onset of the project until its completion. It is that attention to detail and personalized service that has kept us in business for over 38 years.
We do everything in our power to see that the project is on schedule with no excuses. We provide the building department with the information they need which reduces the corrections and speeds up the permit process. We provide the contractor with the information he needs and the result is a project that has a lower bottom line: better bid price and fewer change orders.

KUSTEK HOUSE, Los Feliz, CA
Multi-story Restoration to a 1927 Spanish house in the hillside area of Los Feliz. 5,800 square feet.

FERNAN HOUSE, Monrovia, CA
In January 2004, it was an odd 1,500 square foot structure with no heat or air conditioning. Even reaching the second story master bedroom was a challenge; use the staircase outside or become a contortionist and use the steep, spiral staircase inside! To some the house would have been a “scraper”. It started out as a 1912 Craftsman carriage house. Over the years the mature trees have created an extraordinary privacy and solitude. For these reasons, the homeowners chose to renovate their residence and add 1,500 square feet. The goal; maintain the Craftsman integrity.
In the beginning of the renovation, it became clear that nothing in the residence was standard or normal. This was a unique opportunity to WEJ. Everything would need to be custom designed and built from the ground up. The combined vision of the homeowners as well as the architect saw the possibilities & how to execute the dream.
This creative renovation took into account the history of the house & its environment.
