What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?

1) Safety & insurance (non-negotiable)
Ask for a Certificate of Insurance sent directly from the insurer, naming you as the certificate holder.
General liability (aim for $1M+), workers’ comp, and commercial auto/equipment.
Confirm they follow ANSI Z133 safety standards for tree work (helmets, eye/ear protection, ropes, traffic control, spotters).
2) Credentials & professionalism
ISA Certified Arborist for tree work; TCIA membership/accreditation is a plus.
Branded trucks, written proposals, and a real local presence (address/website/Google profile).
3) Clear written scope (trees)
Identify the tree(s) and exact work: prune vs. remove, crown cleaning/thinning %, cabling/bracing.
How they’ll do it: climb, bucket, or crane; whether wood/brush haul-away is included.
Stump grinding depth (e.g., 6–12"), backfill & leveling, wood-chip or topsoil options.
Property protection: ground mats, fence/roof protection, lawn and driveway care.
Permits/traffic if they’ll stage in the street; call 811 before grinding/digging.
4) Clear written scope (snow)
Trigger depth (e.g., 2"), service window (from end of snowfall), and storm escalations.

Confirm start date, estimated duration, parking/access for trucks/lifts, and where equipment/wood will be staged.
