What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?

Clients shopping for architects should really do their homework to understand what they're getting, as the quality can vary greatly between architects. This applies to both the design & the construction drawings.
The architectural phase is the most important part of what you're about to do. Spending less on this phase will usually result in costing you more during construction. You will absolutely get what you pay for, and investing in the right architect is money well spent.

DeMotte Architects is an architectural firm established in 1990 based in Ridgefield CT, with a majority of our work in Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY. We also work in the surrounding areas such as Litchfield, Dutchess, and Putnam Counties.
We specialize in residential design and our projects range from designing custom homes for homeowners, spec houses for developers, and additions to existing houses of all types. Our style is broad, ranging from modern farmhouses to traditional shingle style or Colonial homes. Each project is specific to our clients’ personal taste, lifestyle, wants and needs, along with the context of the neighborhood and the site itself.
Regardless of house style, every home designed by us is based on the principles of good design which brings together a timeless look + modern technology + best practices in construction. We know that each home design is just as unique as its inhabitants, which is why we work closely with our clients to bring their dream home to life.
