Questions & Answers
Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: When choosing a mural or faux artist ask questions. Find out how much experience your artist has and what the payment policy is. Don't be afraid to let your artist know exactly what you want as far as the finished product. If you are not sure if the work is coming out the way you wanted, say something. A good artist will appreciate your input. You as the customer will be living with the artwork for a long time and when you and the artist are communicating, the work will give you joy for years.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: Living in an area that has an abundance of wineries the most common Murals I do are Vineyard scenes or vignettes. I also do Equestrian, Tropical and Seaside murals as well as Children's themes. As for the Faux Finishes, I specialize in Venetian Plaster, Metallic Plaster, Raised designs, Wood Graining and Marbleizing .

Q: In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A: As a contractor I have to be around these products all the time therefore for the safety of myself and my clients I use use environmentally friendly paints and products Low or No VOC paints are very important to me. I also reuse containers on a regular basis and use rags instead of paper towels most of the time.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: Debra Gayle Designs is a direct reflection of who I am. I am an artist with an extensive background incorporating many mediums and styles. I am also a fine artist. The murals I do are done with a fine art touch and in some instances I paint the murals on canvas and adhere it to the wall with wallpaper paste. This way the client can take it with them if they move to another location. I also have a collection of my paintings as gift items such as coasters and tree ornaments.

Q: What is your company best known for?
A: For the past 14 years Debra Gayle Designs has been a successful Mural and Faux Finish company that has provided exceptional customer service and beautiful artwork for clients from Southern California to Nevada.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: Listening to the clients needs and knowing exactly what they want is very important to me. I enjoy working closely with my clients and providing them with a finished product they will enjoy for years to come. I consider what I do as the finishing touch to a home or business that creates an ambiance and feeling that brings joy.

Q: Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A: For a faux finish such as a wood grain on a garage door, I let my clients know that I will repair any damage that results from imperfections on the surface, such as not being primed correctly prior to painting, within the first year after completing the work. For Murals, I will come back and touch up areas that need a little more enhancement within 30 days after I've completed the project.

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A: How much does it cost? I explain the process of the project and provide my clients with an estimate after all the elements of the project have been figured out. I also explain the cost of the sample boards and how that cost will be deducted from the contract once it is signed with a deposit. Another question is about how much time the project will take. I always give myself an additional week because from experience, things happen and I want to be fair to myself as well as my clients. I try very hard to get the job done in a timely manner so the client can have their home or business back to normal.

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: I do offer a 10% discount for Veterans.

Q: Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).
A: Recently I did a mural for a playroom. There were several themes and a scaffold was required to do the ceiling as well. There was some construction work that still needed to be done on the soffit around the room. The client wanted to get started with the mural so i did what I could and will have to go back and redo some areas that will be ruined by the drywall installation. It's a fun project and some of the areas are going to be interactive such as adding wood steps to the tree where I painted a treehouse. There will be a balcony built onto the wall for the children to sit on and there is a "mountain" that will have rock climbing installed. There is a "stage" area where I will paint a couple of scenes on canvas and have them as back drops for creative theater playtime. As this is still in the process of being completed I will be posting the finished project as soon as it's done.

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: No Company memberships, but individually I am a member of the Temecula Valley Art League and IDAL ( International Decorative Art League). I am also on the committee for the Mighty Mini Masters Art Show and Fundraiser as well as their Feature Artist for the Arts Connection.

Sky with architectural elements in Rotunda

The Rotunda is about 10 ft diameter with flat ceiling 12 ft high. To create depth and space I will be painting the sky first and adding a wrought iron "gate" around the perimeter at the base of the rotunda along the crown moulding. From the center where the chandelier is attached I will be creating a faux medallion with decorative wrought iron arms extending from the center to the base where there are 4 columns. Adding foliage enhances the design with depth and color.
