Energy Deregulation in Connecticut helps people save $$ on their energy bills

Federal deregulation of energy markets is sweeping across this country in many states. Connecticut residences can now choose who will be their energy supplier. To give people a way to save money on their energy bills the federal government has passed laws which require local power companies to give control of some part of their business to allow a more competitive field. The energy companies chose to give up control of the energy supply.

Many new companies will be seeking out customers to utilize this new legislation.
Newly allowed energy suppliers may use many techniques to get customers. Some energy supply companies may give a gift card for switching, some may give a discounted rate on the energy they supply. Others offer travel reward points for the energy you already use. Some companies use unique business models which can allow customers to get "free" energy or allow a consultant to earn a residual income.

When looking to save money on your energy bills through deregulation, make sure you check the soundness of the company you choose.Take time to read the fine print in contracts. Ask your friends and neighbors who they may have switched to. Make your choice based on your comfort level and save through energy deregulation.
