Questions & Answers
Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: Try to learn from a variety of sources, but focus on one instrument, and one style, at a time. These sources can not only include an instructor, but also videos, "jam sessions" with friends and meetup groups, books, videos, and other online resources. Each person learns differently, and my job is to work with your particular style of learning.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: The most common service I provide is Guitar lessons, in a variety of styles-Rock, Folk, Classical, Finger style, and Jazz.

Q: In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A: I try to recycle papers I'm not using in lessons. I also "transcribed" pieces from one instrument to another, which saves additional printing.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: I have taught students from 7 through 70, and do my best to make lessons fit the individual needs of the student.

Q: What is your company best known for?
A: I'm probably best known for personalized service, and being able to draw from a variety of styles of music.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: I've learned, and continue to learn, that "one size never fits all".

Q: Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A: No, but I will tell you if I don't think that my services might not be what you need.

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A: "Can you teach me (fill in the blank) on (this instrument)?" It depends on the difficulty level of the piece, and the playing ability of the student. "How much time should I spend practicing?" In addition to the 30 minute lesson I provide, if the student can practice at least 15 minutes a day, he or she should see the progress in his or her playing ability. With younger students, this can be split up into smaller time periods of 5 minutes each. The main point is to make it consistent, and part of a daily routine.

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: I work through Foxes' Music, so all pricing arrangements are made through the store.

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: I'm a member of Freedom Networking Group, the Songwriters' Association of Washington (SAW), Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), and the Northern Virginia Ukulele Society (NVUS).

Q: What forms of payment do you accept? (cash, check, credit cards, etc.)
A: Payment is done through Foxes' Music
