Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: Small businesses and non-profit organizations may not need a full-time human resource development employee, yet need assistance with human resource systems to meet organizational objectives. Healthy employee systems allow owners, managers and leaders more freedom to focus on their business and organizational objectives verses being weighed down with employee interpersonal needs. Gateway Consulting has the ability and skills to help with any organization's human resource needs that will positively impact the overall success and give a competitive advantage over other similar organizations. Gateway Consulting offers planning, designing, and execution of a variety of human resource services and programs that align with business strategies. We maintain a strategic, high-level perspective of an organization’s objectives and are able to “swoop” into areas that need more tactical assistance. We can quickly assess areas that need improvement and prioritize issues to be addressed. Gateway Consulting is capable of instituting change, asking tough questions and implementing new strategies.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: Every project is unique to the organization and their desired outcome. Some of the more common type of projects include employee handbooks, job descriptions, recruitment, leadership development, learning management systems, applicant tracking, employee satisfaction surveys, new hire orientation, onboarding program, employee recognition programs, and performance management.

Q: In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A: The majority of the work I do is electronic using web-based systems. There is little, to no paper used for my business purposes.

Performance Evaluation Management Web-based System

Researched the best web-based performance evaluation system for a non-profit organization with 220 employees across three states. Developed twice a year evaluations and two other quarterly touches for the employee and supervisor relationship. Installed and set up the system that included the evaluations, reminders, due dates, employee information, employee job descriptions and more. Trained both employees and supervisors in "how to" use the system. Received very positive feedback from both employees and supervisors in the ease of using the system, improved and immediate communications, providing tracking system and improved efficiencies.
Employee Handbooks

Developed employee handbooks for companies from four to 220 employees both for profit and non-profit organizations. Have provided both web-based and paper handbooks depending upon the need and size of the business. Handbooks include the required federal and state law employee protections, the organizations' policies, benefit programs and any other relevant data. Employee handbooks are an essential tool for both the employee and the organization.
Employee Satisfaction Surveys

Have developed, distributed, collected, analyzed and reported out employee satisfaction surveys for both profit and non-profit organizations. Business have included a community college, veterinary business and non-profit social service organization. Results help determine new HR initiatives and focus for the organization. Surveys also bring to light any areas of employee concern that needs addressing.
Job Descriptions

Have developed numerous job descriptions for all types of positions for front line staff to top executive staff positions. Job descriptions are essential for the employee to clearly understand his/her job responsibilities and duties. Clearly defined job descriptions cover an overview of the positions, essential duties, skill and/or knowledge requirements and any physical requirements. Job descriptions provides detailed information when recruiting for positions.
Compensation Statements

I have created compensation statements for a 220-employee organization. The compensation statements were created for supervisors to review information with an employee during their annual performance evaluation and raise. The statements provide information about the employee's total salary package including bonuses and the cost of benefits covered by the organization. The statements are appreciated by employees as it provides them with the total dollars associated with their compensation package.
