Questions & Answers
Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: If you are in the market to find an architect to design your next project make sure that they are registered as an architect (not an engineer, not a draftsperson that can have someone sign and seal for them), that the candidate meet with you at the site (potential project location), and that they fully understand your budget. You do not want to get stuck with a design professional who does not understand whatever financial constraints you have. I have heard horror stories about individuals not being able to finish their projects because they ran out of funds.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: The most common types of projects we receive are restaurant design projects within the franchise realm. Our second most common is residential homes (renovations, single family, high end luxury homes); this means our firm is very detailed oriented and technical.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: Our firm is a boutique style firm, so when you hire us, you get us. Many times individuals hire an architect and only see them for the initial meeting and work with the "b" team for the duration of the project. With us you are not just buying a design you are buying a personal service. With a few exceptions we have completed our projects within our clients time and budget. We also have a sister company that provides General Construction. This relationship helps us to provide up to date industry pricing on construction systems, helping us ensure we will maintain the clients budget.

Q: What is your company best known for?
A: Our company is best known for providing the look for less. We sit with the client ascertain the budget, develop the design together and make sure we meet both (design and budget) without having to sacrifice the other.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: What separates our company from our competition is the personal touch. When you hire our firm our project Architect Jessica is who will be your contact for everything. She will meet with you during the consultation and carry the project through to the end. No passing the client off to the "B" team while charging the premium for the Architect; this behavior (bait and switch) is very prevalent in our industry.

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A: The two most popular questions we receive almost immediately is, "How much will the construction cost?" and "How long will it take before we can start construction?". Unfortunately the answer deviates from project to project. The cost of construction will be pretty generic at the beginning of the project and as we progress through the design and drawing documentation that "ball park" number becomes more refined and more hard lined. Typically the process is as follows; 1)The initial consultation, 2)Field Measuring, 3)Space Plan (Floor plan, reflected ceiling plan, elevations if required, section if required., 4)Design Development (refining the design and this is where engineering begins)., 5)Construction documents suitable for permit and construction, 6. Permit response (if any), 7. Construction Administration (which may be an additional service). Each of those steps may take anywhere from days to weeks depending on several factors. Give us a call and we can explain the process in depth and meet with you to discuss your next project!

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: Our company does offer discounts depending on certain circumstances. Our firm also provides services at gratis for Non for profit entities. Contact us for more information.

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: Our company is a member of several organizations. NCARB Certified, AIA (American Institutes of Architects) Palm Beach Chapter, ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors), ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers). Our founding partners are involved in local community boards as well. Our principle architect Jessica Dornblaser just received the Young Owl award from Florida Atlantic University, as being an accomplished individual in her industry under the age of 40.

Q: Tell us a little about your company.
A: We are a boutique architecture firm specializing in residential, retail, and commercial architecture in South Florida. We have provided service outside of the state (including California, North Carolina, Kuala Lumpur, and more).

Q: What forms of payment do you accept? (cash, check, credit cards, etc.)
A: Our firm only accepts cash or check presently

How We Charge For Our Services
Architects - Commercial
- $2.25 to $5.00 per square foot (design cost only)
The lower square footage price is typical of commercial office space (architecture, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), somewhere in the middle of the two price points is for restaurants because we have an additional service (GAS) to provide. The higher end usually includes structural engineering as well (ground up buildings). Its difficult to pin point an exact cost without knowing any project parameters.

Designers - Drafters - CAD Drafting
- $65.00 to $90.00 per hour for original plans
- $65.00 to $90.00 per hour for revisions to existing plans
We usually provide a lump sum fee for this with a not to exceed. Ask for an estimate based on your project. Estimates are good for 60 days.
