STRUCTURAL BRACING AND SUPPORT FOR A 2nd FLOOR ROOM IN THE BACK YARD.

Some older houses in San Francisco has a bedroom in their back yard being supported only on two little posts. Most often these older posts have water damages and very old. During high winds these rooms on the second floor tends to shakes and vibrates. Safe Engineering just completed full structural retrofits including foundation retrofits and lateral bracing for a 2nd Floor bedroom in the back yard. According to our client their bedroom was performing solidly with no shaking and vibration during high winds and recent earthquakes in San Francisco / Bay Area. We believe with a good structural retrofits these unstable rooms and some times balconies can save lives and properties during high winds and earthquakes. It is a must.
