The Mural Project 2012

This project was for 2 mural-size acrylic paintings, one an equine portrait to measure 6'x5' and the other 3 running horses, 6' x 8'. They were commissioned in early September of 2012 and needed to be installed by mid October. After all the red tape of financing, which took 2 weeks, the canvases had to be special ordered from California and took 2 weeks to make and truck ship to me in Maine. I needed another 2 weeks to get them sent to the client, which was in California, leaving me approximately 2 weeks to paint them! It was a huge challenge, lots of pressure, painting 12 hours a day for those 2 weeks. This painting, Unbridled' 6'x8', is one of the best pieces of art I have created to date.

Testimonials
"The paintings are fabulous! Just as wonderful as we'd-I'd hoped. We love them... they're fabulous - we're so happy" Kim
"Amazing work! You can tell you love animals and I love the light, the moods, the quirkiness often displayed by animals. You should raise some chickens...they are most delightful and funny!!!" Stephanie
"Carol's Pastel paintings are a combination of technical excellence and emotional intelligence. Willow was my beautiful girl who passed away in April 2009, and Carol's portrait of her from a photograph captures her exactly. The painting adds an extra dimension of affectionate observation which a photograph cannot achieve. A piece to treasure forever." Jackie
"I don't just like it, I LOVE it!! There is a sense of wildness about this horse (Unbridled). He/she looks not only unbridled, but untamed, and very wise as well. The untamed-ness is more of a feeling than anything else... I really love it!! I'll stop babbling now and just feast my eyes for awhile." Sarah
"Your work is lovely indeed and reflects your genuine love of animals and your mastery of the pastel medium." Greenhut Galleries, Portland, ME.
"I've said this before and I'll say it again- I LOVE your cattle! Love your colors. Your pieces just "vibrate". :-)" Carol A.
"You can see the world in this horse's eyes; as usual, a gorgeous work of art, Carol!" Sarah
"I love the path you're on! Your pastels are breathtaking especially the rooster, and some of those cows are amazing. I do, of course, love the horses... Keep up your fine work." - Judith
"You took my breath away. My wife is going to love it!" "Just wanted to let you know my wife told me the portrait of Zip was the best gift she has ever received. Thank you again for doing such a great job." - Dave
"The paintings are fabulous! Just as wonderful as we'd-I'd hoped. We love them... they're fabulous - we're so happy" Kim
“I presented my sister with her beautiful, beautiful painting, the pastel you did of Tobias. It was such a hit. She absolutely loves it. It’s just so gorgeous, so beautiful. Thank you for your work and your professionalism, and everything you brought into that painting. It’s just exquisite. Thank you so much. You really gave her back something that’s not been around. It was wonderful.” - Cathy
