Questions & Answers
Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: Are you planning a renovation or addition? What you need to know going... do your homework and think hard about what you want to achieve in your project. If you are a couple come together on what you want and the process will be easy to accomplish. Create a file of images and thoughts of what you are trying to attain in your project. Plan on working with your architect as a team member providing crucial information on how you live and how you interact in the home to create ideal spaces that will work for your family. Architecture is a process which sometimes takes time to shake out the solution but in the end your architect is interested in providing you and your family your dream home.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: Aric Gitomer Architect LLC does many renovation/alteration and additions to existing homes. In addition AGA also can create a new home for you. However, it is not uncommon for a homeowner to be perfectly happy with their current neighborhood and want to make the most out of their home. AGA can help you with that being a reality.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: Aric Gitomer is part of a cottage industry of architects and is a sole practitioner, so when you call AGA you are dealing directly with your architect 100% of the time. You do not get shuffled off to a draftsman or an intern you are getting a professional with over 30 years of experience to complete your project.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: Since Aric Gitomer Architect LLC is run by a sole practitioner you are always getting an architect with over 30 years of experience helping you through the process and making sure you are happy with the outcome.

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A: Most clients want to know what my process is... I tell them AGA completes the project in three steps, in an economical manner. First stepis Preliminary Design Phase in which a survey is performed where precise dimensions are gathered in your home to create a base drawing of the existing residence. With this drawing AGA is now able to overlay drawings and move into the Schematic Design Phase. This phase lets us examine the options by looking at adjacencies and how rooms interact with each other. We fine tune the design and after the plan is agreed upon we develop the elevations and fine tune the plan accordingly. The final phase is Construction Document Phase the final drawings used by your contractor to secure a permit and create your project.

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: No.

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: Aric Gitomer Architect LLC is a proud member of the American Institute of Architects for over 25 years.

About Us Image
Mendham Residence

This family had a beautiful piece of property, located in the Township of Mendham, and wanted a large home approximately 4,000 to 4,500 square feet. That number changed many times during the schematic phase process which is part of the design process where AGA works through the different possible layouts within the parameters of the agreed upon project. The original proposal was spelled out as follows: first floor: 10 foot ceilings, two story entry with grand staircase open to second floor, study, dining room, great room – two story space (family room) with gas fireplace open to kitchen with eat-in breakfast area, powder room, laundry room and mud room adjacent to a three car garage and sunken entertainment room. Additional features included a back staircase to the second floor. The second floor requirements were: 9 foot ceilings, three bedrooms and two full baths (one bath to be Jack and Jill), master bedroom suite to include sitting area, two walk-in closets and master bath.
About Us Image
Fairchild Residence

This is a charming little home after a lot of love went into it. The owner was interesting in buying this house as a fixer upper and flipping it. The existing home was a disaster and a dark cavern with very little character. We opened up the floor plan added some windows and turned it into a little gem. She had no problem reselling the home and turning a nice profit!
About Us Image
Livingston Residence

This owner inherited his parent's home but to live in it with his wife they needed to give it a more modern and updated touch! We opened up the floor plan and created a much more livable spaces.

Sparta Residence

This owner wanted some funky features and we successfully did it for him. From interesting roof pitches and heavy stone looking features to a very open floor plan. It is a must see!
About Us Image
Parsippany Residence

This homeowner loves to entertain and when he is in the kitchen he does not want to miss out on any of the action going on. We opened up the entire length of the rear of the house so when he's cooking away he will not be left out as to what's going on in the family room or dining room. Huge success!

Testimonials
I called Ric because I was in a jam w/a small project where the township was requiring more detailed architectual drawings. Ric went out to my house that day & had the drawings done the next day. Unbelievably fast & thorough turnaround time for a very fair price. Very pleasant & professional. Highly reccomend him. Dan A.
We have the opportunity to work with Aric and we have collaborated on several projects over the past few years. We are yet to work with anyone who is more professional & imaginative that cares for producing beautiful high quality work . He is simply one of our favorite architect. We look forward to a continued great working association with AGA. Pat C.
We were re configuring a house we just purchased, as well as building an addition. We met with 5 different architects and we ultimately decided to go with Aric. He had the right amount of experience with small to large projects(our house is 4700 sq ft), he was priced competitively, but most important he was a person my wife and I wanted to work with. The process turned out to be fantastic. He hit every deadline he initially gave us, he worked well with our contractor, he was responsive and kind, and he also went the extra mile to educate us throughout the process on how everything tied together. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone that needs an architect. Jared F.
As an owner of multiple businesses I am always in need of architectural expertise and time is always a factor. I have worked with Aric Gitomer for over 15 years. He has always met my objectives within budget and on time. Carmen D.
Ric designed a very large home renovation for us. From the beginning he made sure to understand what we wanted out of the project, while understanding that we had to stay within a budget. Ric was very accessible, he aways speedily returned our calls/emails. During the design phase, Ric was very patient with our "rethinks" and would very quickly respond to those changes. Ric's cost was very reasonable and during the project he worked with us in making some minor adjustments to the plans. Richard M.
Ric Gitomer was a true professional to work with. We hired him to help us design new construction. He heard what we had to say and was able to convert our vision into a great floor plan. Having open spaces throughout the home was important to us and he successfully captured the look we wanted. Ric is a thoughtful and creative architect. Jodi J.
Aric provided a personal touch for us in making himself available and going above and beyond 'business'. Throughout the construction he provided stability to the process Adam B.

How We Charge For Our Services
Architects - Residential
- $150.00 per hour (plus materials)
I only provide fixed fees, and additional services are billed out hourly. Every job is different depending on the complexity, focus of the client and anticipated time. I do not focus on the construction cost. It is irrelevant to me.
