Customers will always want to communicate in their preferred way. Choice has been - and still is - king.The majority of all people who communicate with vendors want to speak with a person. When you engage with your social media platforms correctly, you are meeting your customers and potential customers on their terms and engaging them where they are at.

At the same time, other methods of communication such as video, IM and social networks are growing in importance and usage. Therefore, as you develop a unified communications plan, it is critical to gain an understanding of the preferred methods of communication for your particular audience.
