Hello, everyone. I am Dr. Xibin Liang. I am a neuroscientist at the Department of Neurology, Stanford University as well as an acupuncturist holding appointments of Professorship in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture at two universities in the Bay Area. I also help guiding Ph. D candidates and post-doctor fellows for their acupuncture studies in the Capital Medical University, Beijing, China. As an acupuncturist, I had been trained specially for acupuncture and TCM for 13 years under several mentors in three top TCM and Modern medical universities in China. I finished my residency in TCM & acupuncture and was an attending physician at the Department of Acupuncture in a big hospital in China before moving to America. As a neuroscientist, I am the first one in the world who conducted a series of study to investigate the the mechanism of acupuncture treatment of Parkinson's Disease. My publications helped acupuncturists, neurologists as well as the patients to u
Testimonials
I suffered from chronic migraine headaches since I can remember. I have taken medications for many years to prevent the migraines and medications to abort them. Since I have been treated by Dr Xibin Liang, with acuputure, I have experienced a significant improvement. I continue taking the medications to prevent the migraine attacks, but I am not taking my pain medication because I have not needed them. Every week I had between 2-3 migraines. The fact that I have not needed the pain killers, has made my quality of life so much better. Dr Liang has helped me with Sinus pain as well. When I mentioned to him that I was not sleeping restfully, he treated me as well, and now I am have a more restful sleep which makes a difference in my daily life. Thanks to Dr Xibin, I am enjoying whole weeks without migraines and sleeping restfully, and this improvement in life is priceless! Marcia Redwood City
I decided to try acupuncture after my 2nd time failure with IVF. As a neuroscientist, I attempted to find a real acupuncturist who knew what he was doing and what I needed. I was really surprised to know that such an acupuncturist was just on my side at Stanford University. I was treated by Dr. Xibin for two months and the whole process was full of expectation and surprise. I could feel the change in my body and my energy day by day after his treatment. Then later my third IVF proved to be very pleasant and successful. Now my baby is almost one year’s old. I would say that it was my luck to have Dr. Xibin’s treatment. Jeany
I had a very weird, sudden cruciating pain from the inner side of my right thigh radiating to my right foot in a winter morning. I was unable to move my right knee, to walk and drive. I knew that acupuncture was one of my choices, and as I looked up the area I was impressed by Dr.Liang’s experience and passion in doing the practice. I was driven to him for an emergency treatment. To my surprise, my pain was greatly alleviated after the first treatment and was completely gone after only four sessions of treatment. There is no relapse so far. Thanks, Dr. Liang Huihui
Chronic weakness in my lower back muscles has caused me severe and disabling lower back pain at least twice a year. In the past, I have tried all the usual home-treatment remedies as well as chiropractic treatment, but nothing really helped. After reading about a recent NIH-sponsored study which concluded that acupuncture proved more effective than traditional allopathic therapies, I decided to seek help from Dr. Xibin Liang, a local Licensed Acupuncturist. I’m glad I did because his knowledge and his acupuncture treatments have virtually eliminated all my back pain and disablement in just a few weeks. As a result, I am pursuing treatment with Dr. Liang for several other chronic ailments, convinced that the ancient Chinese system can be very effective in increasing the body’s Qi in many different body systems. I would heartily recommend Dr. Liang and acupuncture treatment to anyone. Eli. 82 years old Palo Alto, California
Dr. Liang administered acupuncture on me as I was having trouble conceiving a child after several in vitro attempts. I had also received treatment from two other acupuncturists before going to Dr. Liang. Dr. Laing's acupuncture technique was far superior to that I had received in the past. I also found Dr. Liang not only to have a wonderful and professional demeanor, but he truly cares about his patients. He was conservative in his treatment and did not make promises he could not keep. As an M.D.in China and Chinese trained acupuncturist and a Ph.D., he has a thorough understanding of the human brain and body and how they work in harmony -- his knowledge in this regard cannot be surpassed. By the way, my daughter is now eight months old. J. M, Ph.D., Menlo Park
Parkinson's Disease I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD), a chronic, progressive disorder affecting movement. At present, there is no treatment to delay progression or to cure the disease; the medications can only provide symptomatic relief. With a hope to find a better way to treat my PD condition, I decided to include herbal medicine and acupuncture treatments with the medical treatment provided by my neurologist. I have been receiving acupuncture treatment from Dr. Liang for about one year. Although the effectiveness of this combined treatment procedures on slowing the course of my PD still being evaluated, I do found acupuncture to be beneficial to my general health. My experience under the treatments from Dr. Liang has been very positive. He took time to make sure I understand the treatment objectives as well as the limitation of the treatment program. Dr. Liang is very knowledgeable in acupuncture and a very caring person. ?
I have been going to XL for treatment of my lower back pain and to help with regulating my period . There was a significant difference within the first 2 treatments. Xibin is very attentive to his patients . He is deeply knowledgeable about eastern medicine, acupuncture and his background in neurology compliment his eastern practice as well. The clinic has a serene and peaceful environment that brings the mind at ease when you are apprehensive about tiny needles.? I had been trying to get pregnant for a long time and eventually started using the services of Dr. Xibin Liang along with Western medicine. My husband and I attended a number of acupuncture sessions with Dr. Liang. Additionally, he prescribed us some Chinese herbs and gave general lifestyle and nutrition recommendations to improve our chances to get pregnant. After having attended acupuncture and taking herbs for about 2-3 months I noticed improvements in my menstrual cycle. Shortly afterwards - about 4 months into treatment with Dr. Liang (on and off) - I did get pregnant. I cannot be 100% sure what to attribute the success to - whether it was acupuncture and herbs, or Western medicine, or probably both - but I do believe that Dr. Liang's treatments were helpful.? I first went to Xibin Liang referred by worker's compensation; thereby having no idea who I was getting. What I have found it a profoundly caring expert on acupuncture, the body and the brain. My initial symptoms have abated and Xibin has also taken care of sciatica that was increasingly becoming debilitating. One day as i was looking online for his phone number I discovered he is a Stanford University Neuroscientist! Needless to say, he is quite humble about his accomplishments. If you're looking for great care from a person that knows his stuff, call Xibin Liang. ? XXX Palo Alto

Dr. Liang is a seasoned professional with many years of training. Many acupuncturists can get licensed, but Dr. Liang has a deep body of knowledge through years practicing and being educated at the top schools in China. His neuroscience background is also key to his practice. This background is key to the effectiveness of his treatments. Dr. Liang has a positive bedside manner and is flexible on scheduling. I went to him for digestive and stress problems, and his treatment has helped me feel balanced and whole. He also worked on some shoulder pain, and I was impressed at how quickly this relieved my strain. ?
