They each have 20+ years experience--and it showed. Tom introduced us to the idea of roofing over the existing shake rather than tearing it off. (Other Roofing Contractor) had never mentioned that option.) We checked it out with our insurance agent and found it to be a very acceptable practice--affording us significantly better insulation, as well as lightening the load going to the landfill. When combined with the R-15 insulation and the solar fans, our second story is now unquestionably cooler on warm days.
