Dennis's firm installed wood floors in our condo. Our conditions were a little difficult and moreover, our requirements from the Condo Association were very, very strict. Dennis reworked the bid for us several times as we went through different products to get to the right combination of cost and sound dampening. His people showed up to do the work on time, ready to go to work, and they got the job done a full day earlier than they had anticipated (saving us an extra night in a hotel). Carpet - Install - $1.45 to $1.75 per square foot (economy grade with padding) - $1.65 to $4.00 per square foot (mid-grade with padding) - $5.00 to $5.75 per square foot (premium grade with padding) When budgeting carpet it's important to keep in mind the roll comes in 12' and sometimes 15' width.

Ceramic Tile - Install - $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (plus materials) - $3.50 to $9.50 per square foot (including labor and a mid-grade tile) Porcelain and ceramic tile is typically estimated by square foot. Tile wall base, accents and bullnoses by linear foot.

Laminate Wood or Stone Floor - Install - $30.00 to $40.00 per hour (labor only; using pre-purchased flooring) - $1.50 to $2.00 per square foot (mid-grade laminate installed) Click together flooring is the least expensive to remove and install and provides and beautiful finished surface

Natural Stone (Granite, Marble, Slate, etc) - Install - $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (plus materials) - $201 - $8.50 to $12.50 per square foot (labor only, stone provided by customer) Natural stone is typically estimated by square foot and porous materials requiring sealant prior to grouting

Porcelain Tile - Install - $3.50 to $9.50 per square foot Porcelain tile is typically estimated by square foot with minimum charge for areas under 50 sqft

Tile - Removal - $25.00 to $35.00 per hour - $1.50 to $3.00 per square foot Price for removal of tile depends on the surface underneath, weather it's installed over concrete or backer board. Protection of existing finishes is equally important and requires time to be done properly

Vinyl or Linoleum Tile - Install - $25.00 to $35.00 per hour - $0.90 to $1.50 per square foot (labor only, tile provided by customer) Just like carpet, sheet vinyl comes in 12' width and requires additional waste factor

Wood Flooring - Install or Replace - $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (labor only; install pre-purchased flooring) - $2.00 to $3.00 per square foot installed (mid-grade solid hardwood included) - $250.00 to $350.00 per square foot installed (mid-grade engineered hardwood included) Hardwood surfaces require a waste factor built and usually 5-10% of additional material will be needed

Wood Flooring - Refinish - $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (plus materials) - $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot Sanding and refinishing is typically estimated by square foot. Dust containment requires proper protection which is estimate by the hour
