Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: Don't hire a home inspector based on their price alone. Experience and knowledge will outweigh the cost of the home inspection. A home purchase is usually the most expensive purchase you will make. It is important to make sure you have all the information needed to make the right decision. Choose a thorough inspection company like Blackland Home Inspections, where we take our time to make sure you do not end up buying a money pit.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: General Home Inspections

Q: In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A: We do all of our agreements and reports electronically so we are not wasting paper.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: We are a locally family owned company. The president, Clayton, is native to the DFW area and has several years of construction experience prior to becoming a Professional Home Inspector in 2005. The business manager (and Clayton's wife), Julie, has several years experience in the real estate industry as well. We also have a female inspector, Brittany, who is very knowledgeable and clients and homeowners both love her.

Q: What is your company best known for?
A: Our thoroughness and customer service sets us apart from other home inspection companies.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: Once again it is our thoroughness and customer service. We also are there for our customers even after the inspection. We provide our clients with a free one year membership to the Home Owner's Network. We also include free thermal imaging scans of the home with every inspection. If the home has a standard septic system, we actually dig to open up the tanks. If we can't dig it, we don't charge for it.

Q: Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A: At Blackland Home Inspections, we offer a simple No Hassle Words Guarantee. Attend your home inspection and if for any reason you’re not satisfied with the “Quality” of the home inspection service, tell the inspector before receiving your report and we will either make it right, or you don’t pay the home inspection fee!

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A: Do I have to be at the home inspection? Our home inspections take on average 3-4 hours, but sometimes it may take more time depending on the home. We encourage all of our clients to attend the home inspection at least towards the end of the inspection. That way we can go over the report with them and answer all of their questions on-site. However, if they are not able to make it, we can always go over the report with them over the phone if they have any questions once they receive the report.

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: We do offer veterans a discount when asked.

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: Our company is a member of InterNACHI and ARBOR (Arlington Board of Realtors)

Q: Tell us a little about your company.
A: Clayton started this company in 2005 as a single inspector firm and did home inspections under his own name as a sole proprietor. Towards the end of 2014, his wife, Julie, started helping him with the business and reorganized the company to form Blackland Home Inspections. Julie currently assists clients during the process of booking the inspections. They now have more than one inspector working for the company to better serve customers in a timely manner.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept? (cash, check, credit cards, etc.)
A: We accept cash, check, credit cards, debit cards, and money orders all on-site. Customers can also pay online or over the phone.
